Each year the varsity football members nominate a teacher, administrator, counselor, or someone from the support staff that has had a possitive influence in their life. The player writes a summary on how this person has affected their education experience at West High. They are choosen for each home game, and are introduced to the crowd during the game. They also watch the game from the sidelines and help with the post-game breakdown. Country Club Car Wash will award each winner 2 "Country Club Best" Car Washes, and Bristol Seafood awards a $25 gift certificate to each winner. The football staff at West is very thankful for these people and the time and care they show to the student-athletes.

Every time the Jaguars kick-off at home the crowd will sing along with the popular song “Zombie Nation”. The crowd adds “We are Westside” to the song to make it their own.
After the Jaguars run through the banner from the cheerleaders the Silver Jaguar Brigade will play the school song:

District Haircuts
Each year before District Games start the Jaguar Football Team will do something to their hair. Some years have been a “Mohawk” haircut; some years have been to die the hair “Blonde.”
At the start of the fourth quarter of every home game the Jaguar crowd will stand up and “Jump Around,” to the song by House of Pain.
